Living in Lighthouse Point means enjoying those gorgeous canal views, easy access to the Intracoastal, and that relaxed South Florida lifestyle. But here's what most plumbers won't tell you upfront: your plumbing faces challenges that homes just a few miles inland never deal with.
Salt air from the Atlantic. Hard water from our limestone aquifer. Those beautiful canals that define our city's 18 miles of waterways. Tree roots from mature palms and Australian pines. And if your home was built during the 1950s or 1960s boom when most of Lighthouse Point was developed, you're probably dealing with aging pipes that need attention.
Trust Rooter understands these local challenges because we specialize in them. We're not just another plumbing company serving South Florida. We're the plumbers who know why waterfront properties in Eastway Park corrode differently than inland homes. We understand the plumbing systems in older neighborhoods near Dan Witt Park. We've worked on everything from modest canal-side homes to luxury estates near the Lighthouse Point Yacht Club.
When you call us, you get straight answers, fair prices, and work that's done right the first time. No pressure sales. No hidden fees. Just honest plumbing service from people who actually care about keeping your home running smoothly.
Most plumbing companies treat every city the same. Generic advice. Standard solutions. But Lighthouse Point isn't like other places, and your plumbing shouldn't be treated like it is.
The Salt Air Reality
If you live near the Intracoastal or along one of our canals, that beautiful ocean breeze carries salt particles that slowly eat away at metal pipes and fixtures. We see it all the time. Copper pipes that should last 50 years showing corrosion in 20. Outdoor fixtures rusting faster than they should. Galvanized pipes deteriorating from the inside out.
This isn't a maintenance problem. It's just what happens when you live in a coastal community. The solution? Use materials designed for marine environments, inspect your plumbing regularly, and catch problems before they become expensive disasters.
Hard Water Headaches
That white crusty buildup on your faucets and showerheads? That's our hard water at work. Broward County's water comes from the limestone Biscayne Aquifer, and it's packed with calcium and magnesium. Great for your bones. Terrible for your pipes.
Over time, mineral deposits clog pipes, reduce water pressure, kill water heaters early, and make everything work less efficiently. A $30,000 tankless water heater can fail in just a few years if the hard water isn't addressed. We've seen it happen.
The 1950s-1960s Construction Challenge
Most of Lighthouse Point was built during the big canal development boom of the 1950s and 1960s. If your home is from this era, you're probably dealing with:
These homes need plumbers who understand vintage construction and know how to update systems without destroying your property.
Canal and Waterway Factors
Living on a canal comes with unique plumbing considerations. Tidal effects on drainage. Higher water tables affecting sewer lines. Dock and boat lift plumbing systems. Marina-style outdoor setups. Saltwater intrusion concerns during heavy rains or storm surge.
We handle all of it because we've been doing it for years in Lighthouse Point.
Plumbing emergencies don't wait for convenient times. Pipes burst at 3 AM. Toilets overflow during family gatherings. Water heaters fail on Sunday mornings. When disaster strikes, we're ready.
Our emergency plumbers respond fast with fully stocked trucks. We handle:
We don't add extra charges for nights, weekends, or holidays. Emergency pricing is the same as daytime pricing because we believe that's just fair. You're already stressed. The last thing you need is price gouging.
Slow drains are annoying. Completely blocked drains are a crisis. Most clogs happen gradually, giving you plenty of warning signs if you know what to look for.
We use professional equipment to clear even the toughest blockages:
In Lighthouse Point, we often find clogs caused by mineral deposits from hard water, tree roots infiltrating sewer lines (especially from palms and Australian pines), and salt corrosion creating rough interior surfaces that catch debris. A quick camera inspection shows us exactly what we're dealing with.
For canal-front properties, we also check for drainage issues related to tidal effects and high water tables that can slow your system's performance.
Nothing ruins your morning like stepping into a cold shower. Water heaters in Lighthouse Point face extra stress from our hard water, humid climate, and salt air if you're near the water. Most units here last 8-12 years, shorter than in other areas.
We work with all types:
Signs you need water heater service:
For waterfront homes, we recommend tankless systems with marine-grade components. They handle salt air better, last longer, and you never run out of hot water. Perfect for large families or homes with multiple bathrooms.
Some leaks are obvious. The faucet drips constantly. Water pools under the sink. But hidden leaks cause the most damage because they work silently for weeks or months before you notice.
Our leak detection uses advanced tools:
We've found leaks in canal-side homes, behind walls in condos near Federal Highway, and under slabs in older single-family neighborhoods. The key is catching them fast before they cause mold, structural damage, or sky-high water bills.
Common leak sources in Lighthouse Point:
Old pipes eventually fail. It's not if, it's when. Galvanized steel corrodes from the inside. Cast iron cracks. Polybutylene (common in 1980s homes) becomes brittle and leaks everywhere.
We offer several solutions:
For Lighthouse Point homes, we typically recommend PEX or copper with marine-grade fittings. PEX handles our soil conditions well and resists corrosion. Copper, when properly installed with the right fittings, still performs excellently in most applications, especially for hot water lines.
For waterfront properties, we use additional corrosion protection and regularly inspect outdoor plumbing exposed to salt air.
Your sewer line carries all wastewater away from your home. When it backs up, you've got a serious problem fast. Sewage in your yard. Multiple drains backing up at once. Foul odors you can't ignore.
Lighthouse Point sewer problems often involve:
We start with a camera inspection to see exactly what's happening. Then we discuss your options, from cleaning and clearing to trenchless replacement methods that save your landscaping, driveway, and hardscaping.
For properties near the canals, we also check for water intrusion that can overload your sewer system during heavy rains.
Toilets seem simple until they're not. Running constantly and wasting water. Not flushing completely. Leaking at the base onto your floor. Making weird gurgling sounds. These problems get worse if you ignore them.
We fix and replace:
When replacing toilets, we recommend modern low-flow or dual-flush models. They use 60% less water than old models, saving you money every month while working better.
Dripping faucets waste thousands of gallons yearly. Corroded fixtures look bad and don't seal properly. Outdated fixtures use more water than necessary and cost you money.
We handle all fixture work:
For waterfront homes, we recommend fixtures with finishes that resist salt air better. Stainless steel and quality chrome hold up well. Oil-rubbed bronze and other decorative finishes need more maintenance near the water.
Lighthouse Point's hard water causes real problems. Mineral stains on everything. Dry skin and hair. Shortened appliance life. Reduced water heater efficiency. You don't have to live with it.
We install:
Hard water is especially hard on tankless water heaters and washing machines. A water softener typically pays for itself through extended appliance life and lower energy bills.
Business plumbing problems cost money fast. Restaurants can't operate without working kitchens. Office buildings need functioning restrooms. Marinas require reliable water systems.
We serve Lighthouse Point businesses with:
Our commercial plumbers understand building codes, work during off-hours to avoid disrupting your operations, and respond quickly when emergencies happen.
Living on one of Lighthouse Point's canals or near the Intracoastal requires specialized plumbing knowledge. We handle:
We know which materials last in saltwater environments. We understand tidal effects on drainage. We've seen what storm surge does to plumbing systems. This experience matters when you're protecting your waterfront investment.
Plenty of plumbers serve Broward County. Here's why Lighthouse Point homeowners keep calling us:
We Answer the Phone
Call us right now. A real person answers. Not voicemail. Not an answering service. Just us, ready to help you figure out what's going on with your plumbing.
Upfront Pricing, Zero Surprises
We diagnose the problem, explain what needs to happen, and tell you the cost before doing any work. You approve the price. Then we fix it. No hidden charges. No mysterious add-ons. What we quote is what you pay.
Licensed, Insured & Background-Checked
Every plumber on our team holds a Florida state license, carries full insurance, and passes background checks. You can feel comfortable having us in your home or business.
We Respect Your Property
Shoe covers. Drop cloths. Cleaning up after ourselves. We treat your home like it's ours because that's just basic respect.
Honest Recommendations
If something doesn't need fixing yet, we tell you. If there's a cheaper option that'll work fine, we mention it. We're building relationships with Lighthouse Point families, not trying to squeeze every dollar from every service call.
Local Knowledge Counts
We know which neighborhoods have aging infrastructure. We understand the challenges of waterfront properties. We've worked in condos near Pompano Beach and single-family homes near Deerfield Beach. This local experience helps us work faster and smarter.
Here's how to keep your plumbing healthy in our coastal environment:
Schedule Annual Inspections
We check for early signs of corrosion, test water pressure, inspect your water heater, look for hidden leaks, and catch small problems before they become expensive emergencies. One inspection typically saves thousands in prevented damage.
Address Hard Water Now
Install a water softener or conditioning system. It protects your pipes, extends appliance life, saves energy, and makes your water feel better. The payback period is usually 3-5 years through savings alone.
Use Coastal-Rated Materials
When replacing pipes, fixtures, or equipment, choose materials designed for salt air environments. It costs slightly more upfront but saves dramatically over time.
Maintain Your Drainage
Keep gutters clean. Watch for slow drains. Have your sewer line inspected every 3-5 years. Address tree roots before they destroy your pipes.
Prepare for Hurricane Season
Know where your main water shutoff is located. Have our number saved in your phone. Consider a sump pump if you're in a flood-prone area near the canals. Check and secure outdoor plumbing connections before storms hit.
Check Waterfront Plumbing Regularly
If you're on a canal or near the Intracoastal, inspect outdoor plumbing, dock systems, and exposed pipes monthly for signs of corrosion. Catching it early saves major replacements later.
We serve all Lighthouse Point neighborhoods:
We also serve nearby Pompano Beach, Deerfield Beach, Hillsboro Beach, Boca Raton, and throughout Northern Broward County.

Read MoreLee Everitt from Trust Rooter plumbing was here in 2 hrs after calling them because both toilets broke. He fixed 1, but the other one was too old and rusted...we had 1 that worked which was fine because we wanted to get 2 new ones. We got the new ones and a vanity with a new sink. Janeen in the office scheduled prompt installation. Lee came back and installed the new fixtures and did a great job. He was courteous, knowledgeable and meticulous. I highly recommend Trust Rooter for your plumbing needs.
Needed to replace an old leaking kitchen faucet with a new one we purchased at Home Depot. Called Trust Rooter at 9:15AM and was given a two-hour window appointment of 12 Noon-2PM that day. The service tech, Raul, soon called and asked if he could come an hour early. We said "sure"! He was professional, personable, and very knowledgeable. At the end, he checked to ensure there were no leaks. He neatly finished the job in under an hour. We asked him a few questions about some upcoming projects we may have, including the replacement of a hot water heater and he took the time to explain the process and what to expect with that job. He educated us as to how long the swap out would take and how it would be done. We certainly would ask for Raul to do that replacement when the need arises. We are so happy we have been able to find a new plumbing service to fill the void of recently losing our plumber of many years. It is rare to quickly feel comfortable with a service provider. You can certainly Trust Rooter!
Clogged tub. Very clogged. I tried everything. I called at 10am. Luis showed up at 11:10. Amazing time. Amazing employee. Cleaned everything ( even what he didn’t have to.). Professional and a genuine nice guy. The lady I spoke to on the first call was just as amazing. I will be using this company ONLY. Thank you
We woke up this morning to find that our dishwasher overflowed, and our kitchen was flooded. Needless to say it was a stressful Monday morning. The stress faded, once I spoke to Jeneane this morning. Jeneane was informative, kind, and a pleasure to work with - she helped me schedule my same day appointment, and I was able to get a free quote. The technician, Jose arrived within the 2 hour arrival window. Jose came out and fixed our garbage disposal. Before he did anything that would cost us money, he gave us 2 possible quotes based on a best case and worst case scenario. The cost was straightforward and reasonable which I appreciated. Jose educated us on what caused the issue and how to avoid it in the future. He was kind, courteous, respectful, and a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend this company enough. I had to call back after everything was said and done just to thank them again for everything! I will certainly be using them if I run into any plumbing issues in the future. You guys have earned a loyal customer. If you’re considering using them, consider this your sign to call them now.
